Le Mont Saint Michel – The Sans Tourist Views

After a 4.5 hour drive from Paris, we arrived on a miserable, wet and very foggy afternoon and were unable to see much of the amazing Mont Saint Michel. Fortunately on the following morning, we had a couple of hours of fine weather and therefore able to experience one of the most remarkable sights I’ve seen for a very long time. As we climbed to the abbey itself, the sites became more and more impressive especially when you consider that it was completed way back in 1228!

More amazing facts here.

The romance continues

In Paris, winter has well and truly arrived so while stuck inside, recovering from a very bad cold and spurred on by some lovely comments from a good friend and brilliant pro photographer, I decided to go through some of the photographs I shot when we first arrived back in early September. After a little bit of good ‘ol Photoshop manipulation, Paris looks even more romantic!

A few minutes walk from our apartment is the historic Place des Vosges.

A cosy “off the beaten track” cafe in Le Marais.

A lone and very cold jogger in Jardin des Tuileries.

Sometimes you’d swear we were still in the 1930′s.

Romantic Paris

Just another monday morning in Le Marais just behind St Paul.

Sunday afternoon strolling in Le Marais.

Inside Musee Rodin.

No matter how many times you see it, it’s always an amazing sight. I photographed this while dodging persistent street vendors at Place du Trocadero.

Jardin des Tuileries looking towards Place de la Concorde.

My darling wife Jacqui feeding the pigeons in Jardin des Tuileries.
