Work In Progress January 2010
This is the second piece in a series of three canvases which I’m slowly working my way through. The first in the series is based on the Mercedes Benz logo, while the third uses another famous “brand” – the heart symbol. Each piece measures 1018cms x 1018cms and incorporate various types of lighting elements including the ubiquitous LED, Cold Cathode Fluorescent tubes and SMD LED Strips. As always, control of these lights is managed by an Arduino microcontroller. Once completed, this tryptich (as illustrated below) will explore the idea of graphic symbols and some of the well known brands we see around us every day.
